This is an African sculpture of remarkable quality, made from an exotic wood that appears to be palm, dating from the 1950s.
It is mounted on an original blackened wooden base and depicts the bust or face of an African woman with scarification marks and hair in loose plaits.
Unfortunately, we have not been able to find any information about the artist.
