Important set of antique metal chocolate molds, dating from the end of 19th or early 20th century, consisting of more than one hundred elements (129) corresponding to about fifty complete molds ( each shape requiring two parts) intended for the creation of chocolate subjects in the round.
The collection comprises a wide variety of models :
Animal shapes (fish, shells, stylized animals), hearts, eggs, decorative subjects and naturalistic forms, testifying to theartisanal know-how of the chocolatiers of the time . These molds allowed the creation of true chocolate sculptures , well before the modern industrialization of confectionery.
Made of metal, they display a beautiful patina of use , consistent with their age and aesthetic appeal . Some models are particularly expressive and finely detailed, highlighting the quality of the engraving and the precision of the reliefs.
It is rare to find such a large and homogeneous collection , preserved as a set.
A testament to European gastronomic and artisanal heritage , at the crossroads of folk art, utilitarian object and sculpture.
