MIGUEL BERROCAL ‘Micro David' jewel - pendant - sculpture in bronze and solid silver, ca 1980.
A miniature work by Spanish artist Miguel Berrocal (Opus 120), the Micro David is a jewel, a sculpture and a stylised puzzle all in one, representing a nude male bust made up of interlocking dismantling elements in bronze and solid silver male sex. Miguel Berrocal created this ‘Opus 120' between 1969 and 1971.

In keeping with his practice, Berrocal conceived this piece as a puzzle in volume, made up of several interlocking elements to be assembled and disassembled by hand. This work is part of his research into modularity, movement and the interaction between the work and its viewer.
