Biography:

Romeo Rega was born in 1904, Italian designer of the 1970s associated with a combination of modernism and glamour in their furniture designs. Rega epitomises this style, his brand reportedly launched on 31 December 1969, producing lighting, chairs, tables and display cabinets identified by its double "R" logo, ceasing production in 1981. Although little is known about his personal or professional life, Rega's legacy is not lost, with the arrival of his creations at vintage and collector auctions. Rega's furniture is characterised by geometric shapes and reduced forms. It works mainly with chrome-plated or gilded metal, brass or brass-plated, and plexiglass, adding the allure and elegance for which Rega is renowned to its sleek, modernist pieces. Rega is said to have worked with the designer to the stars Willy Rizzo (1928-2013) and Gabriella Crespi ( 1922-2017 ), all three designers espousing a very similar aesthetic. With many pieces focused on entertaining, such as coffee tables with display space and liquor cabinets, side tables, shelving units and decorative table lamps. Similar work in the taste of Pierre Cardin, Maison Charles, Maison Jansen (notably the Alain Delon model)...
